Pop Thoughts With Who Is Fancy

Who Is Fancy is an artist that is eagerly making his music moves and is a pop artist who started with a goodbye. He had a debut single "Goodbye" that is that was released in early 2015 which peaked at number 29 on Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart. Who Is Fancy has also released a second single that features two pop music pros. Meghan Trainor and Ariana Grande are featured on the new track "Boys Like You" which is definitely a pop filled track. I have gotten the amazing chance to be able to ask Who Is Fancy a few questions regarding branding and the social media presence as an artist. Who Is Fancy is not only a pop artist, but I was especially interested in how it may be different for a new artist.  Read over the questions below!

How important is having a personal brand when making a name for

yourself as an artist?

I think it's always important to keep your brand personal....being authentic is the only way to be. I don't wanna be anything other than myself, so my brand should reflect that!

What is important to you when being active on social media? Fan interactions,

etc.

The most important thing to me is making sure my fans are heard!! I read almost all of the comments and tweets and respond as much as I can! I wouldn't be able to do what I do without them....I think it's important to stop sometimes and get back to the people that are making this all possible. The fans!

What is the hardest part while trying to get your name out there as a newer

artist?

I mean as a new artist everyday brings a new challenge. I think the hardest for me is that are things moving at its own pace. Time is such a frustrating thing. I'm not a very patient person. But as we all know good things come to those who wait! So just trying to stay patient is the hardest part for me! :)

My Thoughts

I think that everything that he had to say made sense. Connecting to the fans is important no matter what fame status you are at. I think that is may be a little more crucial for those newer artists in order to gain their attention and increase their following. Connecting with the fans also shows how important the fans are to them which can make a huge difference. Just take a look at this interview as an example. There are a lot of artists out there that don't respond to no names, like myself, so seeing that he took time out of his day to respond is amazing. I also love when he mentioned that time is the hardest thing for him, because that can relate to many artists. You sometimes just hear artists hit songs and don't realize how many other songs had to be written in order to get the one that made them have a big break. You often don't see how long their process can take, but it is important to know. Once again, thanks to Who Is Fancy for taking the time to chat and be sure to follow him on social media below.
