Insta-ppropriate?

Pop stars post many different photos on their social media sites, from Demi Lovato and her workout selfies, to Miley Cyrus and her wisdom teeth, yes her wisdom teeth; but is there a time where they cross a line? There are pop stars out there that cause quite the stir  with the pictures they post. Are these pictures too far, or just what their followers want? Let's take a look at some of these pop stars that have been notorious for their pictures. By the way, here is the picture Miley posted on Instagram of her wisdom teeth. She's just being Miley.

Cody Simpson and Gigi Hadid

Recently Gigi Hadid posted a picture to Instagram where it was just her and a towel, literally. Also, there was another person in the towel with her, Cody Simpson, her boyfriend. The photo was a professionally taken photo by Mario Testino in a new series called the "Towel Series". They are the first couple to be featured in this series and it has caused quite a stir. Cody Simpson has been releasing some new, more chill music that has a relaxed vibe. The photo however is more risky than relaxed, but Gigi is a model. Personally, I think the picture is just fine, because it is professionally done and it is part of a series. The picture is classy and acceptable for both of them. Yes, they are young, but it is their own decision to engage in this photo. Also, it would be a complete different story if it was them two wrapped in a towel that one of them snapped as a selfie. There is a line where it could be inappropriate, but I think it is just fine. What do you think? Is the photo too much for Instagram or perfectly fine?

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj has posted numerous pictures on Instagram that have gotten a lot of attention. She isn't afraid to push the boundaries on what gets posted on her feed. The first picture is one that is featured in her 2015 calendar. The second one is a selfie that bares plenty of skin. Nicki of course has these selfies and pictures on her Instagram, but it is not like it's the only thing she ever posts. She has posts about fans and new music as well. Also, I don't believe that followers of her should expect anything less than these provocative pictures, because if you listened to her music, you would know her image. These pictures displays her brand and how she wants to come across to others, which works well because it fits so well with the kind of music she produces. It all fits together and makes sense.

Madonna

Madonna has also been one to push the boundaries too. She recently posted this picture with her censored and asked the question to why it is acceptable to show butt, but not breasts? The rules have always been there, but no one dares to ask why it is that way. I applaud Madonna for raising the question and calling out Instagram. Madonna has always been a rebel and sure isn't stopping anytime soon. Like Nicki Minaj, Madonna has always pushed the boundaries so it isn't surprising to see her still do it.

My Thoughts.

Overall, I think what artists post on social media is completely up to them. We shouldn't be the ones to criticize what they post. If we don't want to see it, then don't follow them. You have that opportunity to unfollow them at any point. It also should be common knowledge that their posts will reflect who they are as an artist. You wouldn't expect Nicki Minaj to post a picture in cowboy boots, but rather you'd expect risky photos that reflect her music. Unless, it's a full nude we're talking about, Instagram posts made by artists should be up to them.
